Course Description Learn how companies make financial decisions about investments, financing, and corporate governance. This course introduces the key concepts of corporate finance used by managers, investors, and financial analysts to evaluate business decisions and firm performance. You will explore how companies are structured, how capital is raised, and how firms allocate resources through capital budgeting and capital structure decisions. The course also covers corporate governance, ESG considerations, working capital management, and modern business models. In this course you will learn to: -Understand corporate structures, ownership models, and stakeholder relationships -Evaluate corporate governance mechanisms and agency conflicts -Analyze working capital cycles and liquidity management -Apply capital budgeting tools such as NPV and IRR Module overview: In Module 1, you will explore corporate structures, ownership types, and stakeholder relationships, including ESG considerations and financial claims of stakeholders. In the next module, we will examine corporate governance, including agency relationships, governance mechanisms, and risks associated with governance failures. In the third module, we will cover working capital management, focusing on operating cycles, cash conversion cycles, liquidity management, and supplier financing. In the fourth module, we will study capital budgeting and investment decision-making using tools such as NPV, IRR, and ROIC. In the fifth module, we will analyze capital structure decisions, WACC computation, and theories such as Modigliani–Miller and the pecking order theory. Finally, in the sixth module, we will explore business models, pricing strategies, value chains, network effects, and value creation in modern firms.
